Recognized as the “Small Business Person of the Year” by the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce in 1999, Founder and CEO Mike Nyberg has more than 22 years of experience in the packaging business. Packnet Ltd. was created to provide basic shipping and crating services, an idea Nyberg had while working for his parents during breaks from college in the packaging department of their computer refurbishing company. Shortly after graduating in 1987, Nyberg opened the doors to his company and has led it into the thriving small business it is today, focusing on designing and manufacturing a broad range of specialty packaging and cutting services in the Upper Midwest region. After discovering a high demand in the niche market of custom retail packaging design and prototyping services, Packnet recently launched its nationally-focused and highly successful division, Nuesku.
Believing that packaging is both an art and a science, Nyberg leads Packnet in priding itself on customer responsiveness, engineering and quality. The foundation of the company is built upon both customer satisfaction and loyalty. Those principles are shared by employees as well, with many of them having worked at Packnet for more than a decade.
He is dedicated to his community as well and is involved with the West Metro’s program for kids, Impact Lives, and has served on numerous committees within Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
Nyberg, a born and bred Minnesotan, graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
He is an accomplished athlete, winning the 2003 “10,000 Lakes Novice Overall Body Building Champion” and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys canoeing, backpacking, running, and whitewater rafting. He can often be found cheering on the sidelines for his kids and their competitive sports.
